Power Runs
The ignition timing was retarded to a static timing of 5 degrees BTDC. This resulted in a sprint times of 160km/h on a quarter mile power run. It also netted a 140km on a a hill climb. This trap speed is higher than the Swift GTi 130km but lower than than WRX at 150km/h.This car rolled off the line.A trap speed of 140km is very good and proves the car is working well .

Testing showed that too rich mixtures slows the car in the quarter. The starlet gearing permits 150km/h in 3rd gear. 4th gear is the used to get to 160km/h. Changing to fourth seconds before the quarter proves the car is performing well

. The ignition timing has been advance to 10 degrees.A maximum advance 3 degrees is applied at vacuum and low rpm. This drops off by 4000rpm. Around 12 to 13 psi the timing is retarded by 1 degree. up to a mximum of 5 degrees.Similar performance was experienced as to having the timing put back across the board. However off boost low rpm response is a bit better.
. The Wide band meter says that the mixuter is 10.4 which is rich.

.I have been able to achieve 160km/h at 14.47 in the quarter. Thie ignition timing retarded by 4 degrees, 14psi. I recently installed the EGT shown below. The maximum temparature is 1400F or 778 celcius

.Here is the wide band meter used to tune the setup. This is a very versatile meter. It has up to 44 minutes of data logging capabitly. It can use either the BOSCh LSU4 sensor or the NTKL1h1. The meter has an analog input which can be connected to a box to allow other inputs. There is a serial cable which allows transfer of data to a pc for analysis. I am currently running a very rich 10:1 AFR. This will be corrected by using smaller injectors as in 440cc. Smaller 460cc Injecotrs have been added. Top end power has increased as it is now easy to break the 180km/h speedometer at 15psi. Exhaust gas temperature before the turbo have increased accross the board. Temperatures are now in the range of 1600F or 870 degrees celcius. Going from 550cc to 440 cc has lean the mixture 1 AFR.The mixture has increased from the mid 9 tothe mid 10s.

.In summary don't use injectors bigger than 330cc. You could getaway with stock injector if you keep the boost under 15psi

.Boost response of 0.48 Housing testing done in third gear and using a short log manifold. 0 psi (3000rpm), 5psi(4000rpm),10psi(5000rpm). Full Boost at 5000rpm

.Full Boost at 5000rpm suggest that a smaller A/R on the turbine side is required. The .36 Housing attached will be used to spool the turbo up a bit more quickly at the expense of Top end power. T
