SIX SPEED BOX

 

 

I have a corolla G6 with a transplanted 4EFTE .My corolla was the 1.3 4EFE and fitted perfect.The ratios are 3.166:1, 1.904:1, 1.233:1, 0.969:1, 0.815:1, 0.682:1 . The ratios might look long but my car has a short differential 4.526:1 .The feeling is that it accelates real fast till 180-190(5th top end) but it takes time to go with the 6th. I don't know if it is better from the GT's but in my opinion it would help a big turbine to reach its good range

On your questions:
-Yes, the (non-viscous) diffs for C52, C566, C160 are identical to that of the 4AGE powered AE92,101,111. Note: The AGZE does indeed use a different diff, as do NA EP’s.

-Gabriel Tyler of www.technotoytuning.com in the US sells the Kaaz (clutch type) for US750!!, quite a bit under any quote for TRD LSD’s (clutch type and helicaltype) I come across (Bruce Sollitt’s US$845 being the lowest), and much cheaper than a Quaife.

-The C160 comes with a 4.529 final drive. The stock EP comes with a 3.722 (both ep82 and 91). If you want taller gearing just swap the short 6speed FD for the EP’s FD. It’s just a quick swap of the crown gear on the diff. Then, you can take advantage of the tall 6th (0.725) (stock EP 5th:0.815, so 6th is nearly 10% taller, if you swap the EP’s 3.7FD onto the 6 speed).

-The EP’s have the tallest FD of any C-geaarbox (3.722), a V spec AE111BZR has the shortest: 4.75 (though this is a rare edition). There’s also the Levin/Trueno FD of 4.3 if you want something in between. Again, they’re interchangeable, utilizing the same diff.

-Look at the attachment for all the gear rratio’s of the three c-tranny’s mentioned here; you’ll notice that 1st-thr 4th are a bit shorter on the 6speed, 6th is 10% taller than stock C52/56 5th. So, for ¼ mile purposes, you won’t get higher gear ratio’s per se. (The 17” wheelsize correction was for my own tarmac-rally style purposes, not for drag-use)
